DBC Carpentry and Joinery is run by Dave, who is the only full-time employee. Dave has been a qualified carpenter/joiner since 1991 when he completed his five year apprenticeship. A New Zealander who spent the first seven years of his career building timber-framed houses, Dave was half of the two-man team who built the first new residence to be given the NZ Master Builder's Federation's new home guarantee.

Dave began his first job in the UK in 1996 as the foreman carpenter on the two-year conversion of a large Victorian furniture factory. Upon completion this building was awarded a national architectural award (Aldington, Craig and Collinge Architects).

DBC Joinery only uses timber felled from sustainable forests and recently completed its first project using entirely reclaimed stock. If you have windfall timber or a standing tree ready for felling that you would like to incorporate into your home, a reliable sawyer can be recommended. Advice can also be given on air drying or kilning.

Finally, DBC Joinery offers free quotations and advice and carries full Public Liability insurance. DBC Joinery works with, and can recommend, many other quality local tradespeople.
